From the cliffs of Amalfi to the quiet stone quarries of Sicily, these extraordinary retreats are proof of how Molteni&C brings Italian design excellence to places shaped by light, history, and a slower rhythm of life.
The Mediterranean has always been an escape for the senses. Saline air and citrus groves. The hum of summer cicadas. Ancient towns clinging to hillsides. In this part of the world, design unfolds in response to a profound sense of place. And nowhere is that more evident than in the following remarkable Molteni&C Projects across southern Italy.
Brought to life with signature pieces from the Collection, these destinations offer a distinctive take on timeless beauty. Here, heritage and modernity live side by side and every detail tells a story.
Borgo Sant’Andrea, Amalfi
Tucked into the cliffs of Conca dei Marini, Borgo Sant’Andrea is a reimagined 1960s hideaway with sweeping sea views and a private pebbled beach. A four-year restoration turned this mid-century hotel into a jewel of the Amalfi Coast, complete with hand-painted tiles, olive groves, and iconic designs by Gio Ponti from the Molteni&C Heritage Collection.
Throughout the family-owned hotel, Gio Ponti armchairs the D.153.1, D.151.4, and D.156.3, as well as the D.552.2 small tables, blend with custom local craftsmanship, creating a soulful balance between vintage charm and coastal calm. Every space opens to the horizon; every corner invites you to linger.
La Cava Boutique Home, Val di Noto, Sicily
Hidden within the stone walls of an ancient quarry, La Cava Boutique Home is an icon by nature of its location. Part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, this peaceful Sicilian hideaway sits where Baroque history meets modern design.
La Cava blends natural textures, smart design, and thoughtful curation. Inside, Molteni&C designs like the Marteen sofa anchor the living space with sculptural ease, while the Hi Line 6 kitchen, Devon chairs, and Gliss Master wardrobe by Vincent Van Duysen and Rodolfo Dordoni bring quiet sophistication, echoing the landscape outside.
This is a place to slow down. To listen. To feel connected to something older, deeper, and still very much alive.
Molteni&C brings its expertise in custom design projects to each of these Mediterranean properties, imbuing them with understated elegance, Italian craftsmanship, and a deep respect for what endures. Along these storied coasts, design becomes part of the legend.
Tai Villa, Andalusia
Gracefully embedded within the scenic terrain of La Reserva in Sotogrande on the Southern tip of Spain, Tai Villa is a compelling expression of contemporary architecture, harmoniously melding with its natural surroundings. Designed by Ruiz Moriche, the villa offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea, creating an uninterrupted dialogue between interior and exterior spaces.
Throughout the home, Molteni&C furnishings from renowned designers such as Gio Ponti, Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean Nouvel, Naoto Fukasawa and Dante Bonuccelli have been carefully curated to shape the atmosphere and complement the villa’s unique architectural vision. The home’s layered design embodies a fluidity that mirrors the project’s philosophy of balance, sustainability, and elegance.
Special attention and focus are given to the outdoor spaces, including an expansive terrace defined by the Sway outdoor sofa and coffee tables by Yabu Pushelberg, creating a relaxing sanctuary to enjoy stunning views of the natural landscape. The Cobea dining chairs by Vincent Van Duysen carve out an intimate space for conversation while dining alfresco under a shaded pavilion.
TAI Villa achieves a seamless dialogue between the architecture and interiors that creates a subtle yet distinctive sense of place. Here, Mediterranean ease meets refined design in a home where rest, relaxation, inspiration, and discovery are effortlessly interwoven into daily living.

Brucoli Lighthouse, Sicily
On a quiet stretch of Sicily’s eastern coast, the Brucoli Lighthouse stands at the juncture of land and sea. Built in 1911, the lighthouse has been lovingly restored into an intimate retreat where modern design meets elemental nature.
With views of Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea, the interiors are pared back and poetic. Molteni&C’s clean lines and warm textures echo the simplicity of the setting. From Gio Ponti armchairs to beds by Rodolfo Dordoni, the space invites stillness, light, and peaceful retreat. A one-of-a-kind space at the gates of UNESCO World Heritage Site of Val di Noto.
Ponti believed that architecture should serve the lives of its occupants, creating environments that inspire and enrich daily living, and all of the life that he imagined the house would contain is scribbled on to this large sheet of tracing paper.
The Belgian architect and designer Vincent Van Duysen has become synonymous with one word: serenity.
Standing desks have a long and illustrious history, early proponents commissioned high desks directly from carpenters, or used the taller shelves of bookcases, until manually adjustable sit-stand desks were invented. UniFor’s latest workstation, however, the Spring System designed by architect Antonio Citterio, uses springs to counteract the weight of the desk as it rises.
